What are the difference between TFT and LCD?

TFT type display is currently the better LCD color display, TFT type display has many advantages: high response, high brightness, high contrast ratio, etc. TFT display is closest to CRT display. TFT screen is also often found on the screen of major cell phones, there are 65536 colors, 160,000 colors, 16 million colors, it is also very good display. TFT means that the LCD on the Each LCD pixel is driven by a thin-film transistor integrated behind it. This allows for high speed, high brightness, and high contrast display screen information. TFT-LCD (thin film transistor liquid crystal display) is one of most liquid crystal displays.

Liquid crystal display (LCD). the structure of LCD is placed in the middle of two parallel glass liquid crystal box, the substrate glass is set on the TFT (thin film transistor), the color filter substrate glass is set in, to the TFT signal, the voltage changes to control the direction of rotation of the liquid crystal molecules, so as to achieve the purpose of controlling each pixel to display the polarized light shot or not. Now that LCD has replaced CRT as the mainstream, the price has dropped a lot and become popular.

Difference Between TFT and LCD

Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). Generally divided into two types of monochrome and color LCD, monochrome LCD has almost withdrawn from the notebook market, while color LCD continues to develop. Color LCDs can be divided into STN and TFT. TFT (thin-film transistor) is a field-effect transistor used to build LCD screens and embedded in each pixel, making them faster and providing better image quality. TFTs are created by depositing a thin film of semiconductor active layers as well as dielectric layers and metal contacts on a support substrate.

LCD is a TV screen that uses liquid crystals sandwiched between two sheets of polarizing material. LCDs are used in TVs, computer monitors, clocks, calculators, cell phones, and more. LCDs have significant advantages over CRTs and plasmas, such as they consume less power than both, and both CRTs and plasmas are prone to aging, while LCDs are not.
Each pixel of an LCD has a transistor that can be easily turned on and off. In addition, because the TFT is embedded in the panel itself, it reduces crosstalk between pixels. Crosstalk is when the signal transmitted to one pixel also affects another. TFT, also known as active matrix display technology, is more sensitive to changes and has a faster refresh rate. The faster response time also eliminates the problems faced by gamers. TFT has now become the standard for producing LCD and LED screens.
